The monthly reckoning

The month ended and the money is gone. Here is where it went.

Once you have been dropping in receipts and exports for a few weeks, the dashboard stops being abstract. It is your money, in your categories, with the awkward parts visible.

Why this never gets done

You can see every individual payment and still have no idea what the shape of your month was.

  • The bank app shows you a list, which is not the same as an answer.
  • Budget categories drift until they mean nothing and you stop trusting them.
  • The chart only appears after you have done all the tidying up yourself.
How Gepeta handles it

Say the messy version. Get the tidy one back.

  • Say what you spent, or photograph it, or drop the export in – whichever is easiest that day.
  • Confirm the records. Only what you confirmed ever reaches the numbers.
  • Open the dashboard and see the month: what came in, what went out, and what it went on.

Things you might say

  • "Paid £42 for the food shop on the debit card"
  • "Salary landed today"
  • Drop in last month's statement

What gets written down

  • Money in and money out
  • Categories
  • Which card or account
  • Savings goals and targets

What you get out of it

  • What came in, what went out, what is left
  • The needs-wants-savings split, set to your own percentages
  • Category and card breakdowns, and how they have moved
  • A spending calendar you can click into, day by day
  • How your savings goals are actually tracking
Works today

What you can actually do right now

  • The dashboard is built from spending and goals you confirmed yourself.
  • Your currency, your usual payment methods, and your budget split are all yours to set.
  • Click any day on the calendar to see exactly what happened, and export the lot.
  • One tap hides every amount on screen, so you can show someone the app without showing them your salary.
Being straight with you

What it will not do

  • It can only add up what you gave it. A month you did not record is a month that looks cheap.
  • It shows you regular payments you have marked as repeating; it does not go hunting for subscriptions you forgot about.
  • It tells you what happened. What to do about it is your call – this is a record, not financial advice.
FAQ

Questions about spending

What does the dashboard show me?

Your monthly totals, the needs-wants-savings split, which categories and cards the money went through, a clickable spending calendar, and how your goals are going.

Where do the numbers come from?

Only from spending you confirmed yourself. Nothing is estimated on your behalf and nothing is pulled in from anywhere.

Will it spot my subscriptions?

Only the ones you told it repeat. It does not go looking for forgotten direct debits.

Can I show this to someone without showing my salary?

Yes. One tap disguises every amount on screen, and your real figures are untouched.

Capture the messy input. Keep the reviewed record.
